In the winter of 1996 we were inspired by an Irish tradition for a morning after ’corpse-reviver’ - a splash of Port in your stout! The inspired blending of Rich Ruby Port with O’Hanlon’s award-winning stout has created a unique and original masterpiece of craft brewing.

One of the best beers I have ever had. The blend of port with the flavorful stout creates a unique beer with old world flavor.

Cask Pint at Wibbas Down (JDW), Wimbledon, London in Mar 2013 - Dark Brown in colour with Reddish tinge. Very Malty; roasty malts, coffee, liquorice. Hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste. Very drinkable.

Keg at The Rake. Dark brown to black with a thick two inch head. Aroma is toffee, burnt toast, caramel, coffee, I could sniff this for hours. The taste is nice, much of the same from the nose of the beer, thick, rich with different flavours coming and going as the beer warmed. Quite good

Leicht ins süßlich-dunkel gehende. Schwer. Der Nachgeschmack ist langanhaltend - hefig-mild und röstmalzig-intensiv.
Gut abgewogenes Herbe-Süße-Verhältnis. Interessantes, aber auch sehr leckeres Bier! --> 13+10+13+13 = 12,40

Dark ruby brown with rich vinous aroma and roast barley. Full bodied, dry but fruity. V enjoyable.

(Cask): Black with a small tan head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, chocolate. Flavour is roasted malt, milky coffee, chocolate. A bit watery and don’t detect any port flavours which is unfortunate as it’d have fitted well.

Tap. Geez this was bad. Kind of like off chocolate mixed with kola beer. Terrible stuff and weirdly funky

A sweet stout, with more the former rather than the latter, but it is very black as you would expect. No head with a sweet aroma.
