2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
(Bottle 50 cl) Very dark brown - but not black - with a thick, light brown head - sort of shaving foam style - leaving lumpy traces in my glass. Very dry body with notes of smoked, hard roasted malts. Bitter finish. But Iím not really sure I detect the added Ferreira Port. 100402

2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Dark brown coloured with a beige head.
Aroma of dish washer and herbs with roasted notes.
Roasted flavour with notes of soap and coffee.
Dry finish of coffee.
Unfortunately I canít detect the added port - if the brewers have to add any foreign ingredients to their beers, then done so it can be detected.
This one is waste of port and beer !

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Black with browny white head. Aroma of hops, chocolate and especielly coffee. The texture is very soft, unfortunatly its very thin as well. Aftertaste is a bit bitter and very short! (Typical Brithish I feel like saying) Regular brew!

UPDATED: OCT 2, 2009 2008-08-06, Cask Conditioned at Cockney pub, Ňrhus, 6-3-6-2-11=28
Dark brown to black color, poor head. The aroma is mild, nice, with a cheesy yeast. Normal Stout, dryish, with just roasted malt, its harshnees and bitterness rising at the end. Not too interesting.
2003-02-12, bottle, 6-5-7-4-14=36
Dark color, generous thick head. Pleasant roasted malt nose; yeast. Dry mouth-feel, dominated by the roasted malt, with hints of coffee and chocolate; liquorice; too much carbonation. Dry-bitter final, also dominated by the roasted malt. The driest among the stouts I tasted.
Can you find the Ferreira Port in it?
