Black with thick tan lasting head good aroma with some coffee and chocolate hints Some initial sweetness in the taste which may come from the port then a nice roasty coffee bitterness develops. Some lingering warmth at the finish - oddly for a modest abv. Maybe it is the port found it a bit watery but decent.

Nice malty aroma with chocolate and coffee tones. Black colour with too much head. Malty flavour with nutty impression and slightly coffee and chocolate finish. Medium to heavy creamy body with medium carbonation.

worldbeertaste (1676) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - JUL 15, 2014
Deep dark brown with a red tint and a lasting creamy frothy beige head. Smells of burnt malt, chocolate, coffee, dried fruit, caramel and sweet malt. Medium frothy oily body with no carbonation. Mellow rounded roast, with burn malt with dark chocolate, dried fruit and a nice bitter coffee roast finish. The finish has a slight metallic finish. A nice smooth stout with a roast finish and a dry nice decent character.

Keg at The Rake. Dark brown to black with a thick two inch head. Aroma is toffee, burnt toast, caramel, coffee, I could sniff this for hours. The taste is nice, much of the same from the nose of the beer, thick, rich with different flavours coming and going as the beer warmed. Quite good

Leicht ins süßlich-dunkel gehende. Schwer. Der Nachgeschmack ist langanhaltend - hefig-mild und röstmalzig-intensiv.
Gut abgewogenes Herbe-Süße-Verhältnis. Interessantes, aber auch sehr leckeres Bier! --> 13+10+13+13 = 12,40

(Cask): Black with a small tan head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, chocolate. Flavour is roasted malt, milky coffee, chocolate. A bit watery and don’t detect any port flavours which is unfortunate as it’d have fitted well.
