COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
A voluptuous traditional Irish Red Ale, this is a rewarding drink that makes real fans of many of those who, trying it for the first time, are taken by its unique and individual strength of flavour. It is a superb example of a uniquely Irish brewing style which blends the dry smokiness of Irish stout with the warmth of a bitter ale - and what a colour!

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Chestnut brown with creamy head. initially served very cold and it tasted like a dud, luckily on warming up it recovered extremely well. Quite bitter for an Irish Red, hoppy and fresh giving a tingling effect across the tastebuds, almost as if the hops were slightly charged. Lasting and tasty on the palate, pretty good.

Cask/handpump at Questors in Ealing. Pours a dark red-brown with a fine white clingy head. The nose is creamy, malty and grassy, then the palate brings a full body with nuts, oak and roast malt. The aftertaste is very astringently bitter.
