Has been seen as Royal Oak Pale Ale and Royal Oak Traditional Bitter.
Ingredients: Optic Pale, Crystal, and Torrified Wheat malts; Challenger, Northdown and Goldings hops.
"Royal Oak is a pale ale of noble character in the grand tradition of British country brewing. Classically deep amber, rich in malt and fragrant with hop aroma, it’s a rounded, soft ale of beautifully balanced complexity and lasting finish."

Pours a hazy dark orange-red with a thin off white cover. A nice fruity caramel aroma, citrus orange and an woodiness. Taste if unfortunately thinner, light caramel, a nuttiness, and more grapefruit fruity hops.

Slightly friuty with a bitter edge. The bottle I bought was exrtremly expensive pointing to a premium product, which it isn’t.Still nice to see it back on the shelves.

Bottle, LCBO. Dark hazy orange, medium creamy foamy head. Nice musty aroma - very dry, dust, wood chips. Taste isn’t bad - fruity, malt, good amount of hops. Lots of fruit in finish. Light to medium mouthfeel. I wanted a little more omph in flavour - more malt, less fruit, which got thin and almost cloying after a while. But, while the whole thing is a little muted, it is still a solid bitter and enjoyable.

Hazy medium orange, head way too big no matter what I tried when pouring. Aroma was bread and some moldy floral hops. Flavor was bread, anise hops, almost seedy somehow. As it warmed, a bit of caramel arrived. Did not care for the hop profile of this at all.

The beer emerges from the 500ml brown bottle a bemused rusty orange color with a mount Everest sized frothy light tan head and a bazillion tons of sediment, well maybe only the size of K-2 and just a ton or two of goodies floating in suspension, with the left over lace a thick blanket to cover the glass. Nose has an unmistakable woody aroma, fresh malts, a bit soapy, fresh and clean, the start is nicely malted and lightly sweet with a light to medium feel at the top. Finish is pesky in its acidity, the hops ever so spicy and pleasant, very dry and long lasting aftertaste, what better treat after a long day of drudgery and the ride home in this 106-degree heat amongst some of the worst drivers on God’s green earth.
