COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Occasional. Also available bottle conditioned, mainly for export to America.
Has been seen as Royal Oak Pale Ale and Royal Oak Traditional Bitter.
Ingredients: Optic Pale, Crystal, and Torrified Wheat malts; Challenger, Northdown and Goldings hops.
"Royal Oak is a pale ale of noble character in the grand tradition of British country brewing. Classically deep amber, rich in malt and fragrant with hop aroma, it’s a rounded, soft ale of beautifully balanced complexity and lasting finish."

Pretty good label and bottle. Goldings, slightly cigarette-y aroma. Peaty malt, yeasty, a little metallic, generally gave a pretty dry impression. Copper color. Medium body. Sticky bitter aftertaste. Pretty good.

color is almost exactly the same as the au courant i just had. medium golden, slightly hazy, head is off-white, kind of creamy. aroma is mildy candy sweet, and citrus hops with a nice floral quality. flavor is mostly hops with notes of celery through to the finish. i like this one.

(500ml bottle, best by 2/28/05) Cloudy copper body topped by medium, beige, milkshakish head. Aroma is medium sweet, floral, orange, cookie dough, light caramel. Taste is medium sweet, earthy, floral, some roasty chocolate, light raisin. Medium body, light resin, light acidity. Enjoyable beer.

How easy drinking this was - malty smooth, sweet fruits, nuts, citrus juices and a nice lightly bitter finish. Nice orange body, great head and lacing. Tasty tasty

Bright copper colored body with a light khaki head. The aroma has rich caramel and oranges. There is also some milk chocolate rabbit. The taste is largely milk chocolate with hints of apple. There was also some rich bread crust. A nicely made brew with a roasted finish. Hints of iced tea start to come through as it warms.

Love the aroma and the big frothy head on this one. Amber colored somewhat cloudy. Aroma of malt mixed with wet twigs. A lot of dissappointment after that. A little watery, not much bitterness at all and not that malty sweet. Not much of a finish period.

(on bottle) Unclear, toffeecloloure with a small, lasting, white head. Woody and fruity aromas, with a backdrop of caramel and smoke; Sniffed this one for a long time; goood. Parshly bitter, malted flavour and a tart, refreshing finish.

Strong amber hues with a solid stable and built head. Some continued carbonation flow, but nothing to take away from the crisp, fresh flavors of the malted grains. Balanced well with some hop essence on the nose. Subtle complex tastes. Went well with good Mexican food after the sampling.
