Cask, handpump @ The Bridge Inn, Topsham, Devon.
Out a dimple glass, a radiant, bright tawny copper with a thin pad of white that is mostly lasting, full-full pint. Rich, plummy, fruitcake nose with notes of wood, nuts, salt, earth and fresh garden flowers, enticing. Deliciously rich fruitcake flavours, quite warming at 5.0%. Nice full body, well rounded and soft. Long burnt fruit and rose petal swallow with a lot of wood lingering, and a residual caramelised fruit sweetness. Lots of biscuity, nutty malt on the mid-palate. This is delicious. One of the mainstays for this pub as the locals love it and I can see why. A very bold bitter, delicious.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Oaty tropical fruit aroma. Reddish brown colour, massive foamy head. Rusty apple, mixed fruit & malt flavour. Bitter aftertaste. Not a bad bitter.

Dry grainy aroma, quite fruity too - apples at least. Big toffee retronasals. Sweet winter warmer. Packed full of toffee, and only moderate apple. Yummy.
