COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Scarce, subtle and complex, Thomas Hardyís Ale is the beer enthusiastís equivalent of rare cognac. Bottle-conditioned to mature in the bottle like fine wine, this old ale/barley wine will improve with age for at least 26 years (and weíre still counting!). Not for the faint of palate, especially when young and brash, maturity brings an elegance of flavors unmatched by any other beeróif you have the patience to cellar it for at least a decade.

Bottle @ home. Vintage 2007. Hazy red/brown colour, no foam. Vinous, port, plums, brown sugar. Some oxidation. Sweet and weak. Hard to beleive this is 11.7%. Good but I think the best of this beer is already gone.

Flaske. Dette er en helt speciel Ýl. Farven er rÝdlig kobber og der er ingen skumkrone. Aromaen og smagen er tÝrret sÝdlig frugt, karamel, portvin/madeira. Smager fantastisk.

Brown beer, no head. Nose is fruity, very spicy and malty, bready, dark fruits, almost like a boozy christmas pudding. Flavor is caramel, dark fruits, lots of bready malt, licorice notes, dried fruits, warm booze. Licorice, fruity, bready finish, dark fruit... This is amazing.

The aroma is dried fruits and great vinous character. The taste of Thomas Hardyís Ale is like port wine with delicate fruity nuances of plum, raisin and dark grapes. It has a sweetness and very distinctive hoppy bitterness that only the British can figure out how to highlight in their barleys. Gently caress it for the taste buds and the titillating alcohol strength comes never seriously in play but the whims little in the throat. It is certainly a barley is out of the ordinary with its fine fruit nuances will be an excellent alternative to a dessert or perhaps even more perfect to enjoy after a good dinner.
