Vertical Bacon Strips (581), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 25, 2009 oured out a neat hazy bright yellow brew into my glass. Too bad there was almost no head to accompany the brew. The aroma was different than I had expected, thus it turned into a half litre treat. Fruity and fresh with the citrus combo of orange, apricot and lemon and light bready malts. The taste was quite light just like the aroma is. Slight fruit can be found and the hops are finally noticable but mildly flavoured with spice and herb qualities. Light bodied. The light malts character is highlighted by short bursts of bitterness while coming across a bit spritzy. This is drinkable is massive quantities but it does lack a serious defining quality. This doesn’t matter as Yellow Hammer is plain ol’ good. zvikar (269), Tel-Aviv, Israel Jun 17, 2009 Dirty hazy orange liquid with nice off-white head, aroma of white wine, honey and some floral tones, flavor is wild with some lavender, apples ,white wine ,crispy. finish has a grapefruit biiterness and some mint. Unexpectedly nice. Cirrhosis (550), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 11, 2009 "Hazy straw in color with a thick cap that reduced very quickly to a skiff, look standard. Ohhh…… that smells yummy completely unexpected that would smell this good. Citrusy hops is the first thing I noticed, grape fruit, apricot, lemon the malts smell smooth and sweet toffee, mild bread, this is so yummy. Taste is much milder then the aroma it is slightly watery and sour. Grapefruit is still noticeable but much milder, malts is weak and sweet, detecting some banana in here or is that maybe some wheat. This is kind of a yummy but forgettable beer I could probably slam a dozen of these in night and not even think about it and then forget what I drank the next morning……………" berkshirejohn (1544), Bracknell, Berkshire, England Jun 4, 2009 Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Amber with a thin white head; lime aroma; creamy texture with lime and honey flavours; light and refreshing. hobbersr (275), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada Jun 4, 2009 Pours a hazy golden yellow with a fluffy white head. Aroma is citric, bready and grassy with a hint of yeast. Aroma has lemon, white bread, grass, and a little honey. Nice fluffy mouth feel. Simple, yet quite enjoyable. Hoppy, citric fruity and flowery taste with notes of honey and Cascade in the finish. Big sediment at the bottom. PJClarke (494), London, Surrey, England Mar 7, 2009 Very sweet and lightly fruity. Crisp. I’m really not drinking this at the right time of year but I shall endeavour to imagine some warmth in the air. Good cereal notes throughout but it lacks a really refreshing finish. It peters away to a very nothing, tongue-coating residue.
