Not that good, had a strange watery aftertaste.
BDR (1862), Roseville, Minnesota, USA May 22, 2007 Picked up at the coffee grounds in Eau Claire Wisconsin. Nide dry nose, a little grainy. Dark brown color with faint head. Lighty cofee nose. Dry water body with a coffee and grainy body that somehow reminded me of potato stew. robertsreality (2462), Minnesota, USA May 14, 2007 Dark Brown with Sandy Ring. No Aroma. Dark Malts, Light Coffee Roast..Bit Stale Tasting. Dry Bitter Coffee Aftertaste. Carbonated...Light, Thin Bodied Stout. Some Light Smoke Notes. Session Stout detroiter (957), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA Jan 22, 2007 Pours a nice healthy black color topped by a quarter inch or so of cream colored foam. Sparse head retention and lacing. Mild aroma of roasted grain.
The flavor is more prominent than the aroma - mild roasted grain with a hint of coffee. It is quite tasty and dry in the finish. Body on the light side, as is the carbonation, however I think it is a fair representation of the style.
Nothing flashy, but tasty enough and quite drinkable. altkencru (143), USA Nov 7, 2005 This thing had very little body to it so I was disappointed. Not too sweet, which was good, but the flavors disappeared almost immediately upon swallowing. Big head, for what that was worth. SigPi906 (2), Alaska, USA does not count Sep 2, 2005 Lured in by the "new beer" sign in local craft brew store, this beer surprised me. It poured in with a dense and almsot instant head that remained for quite some time and looked remarkably well. My first taste was stale thin, overbrewed coffee. My secondary taste was grounds from the bottom of my mug. No hop... ever, and thats ok sometimes, but i prefer my bitterness not come from a cup-a-joe. My opinion says they should probably take Award Winning" off the label.... only a drunk Irishman would give this beer a medal (no offense to any of you drunk irishmen out there :)
