3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle sample at the Cleveland International Beer Fest on 5/14/11. Clear copper pour with a thin off-white head. Malty nose with some crisp hops. Flavor is identical with equally balanced amber malt and crisp hops. Not going to knock your socks off, but a nice session beer with appropriate amount of oomph for the style. Better than most of their catalogue.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
July 17-19, 2008: Alt-ernative Amber has a clear amber-color appearance, not too much aroma (grainy maybe?), a medium body, and smooth texture. The flavor is actually better than expected. Draught sample in Athens, Ohio during Ohio Brew Week 2008. Rating #3 for this beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma is mild malts and a hint of fruitiness. Amber-copper color with a mild, filmy head and spotty lacing. A little light in the mouth feel area with a watery aftertaste. Malty flavor content jumbled together with some mixed berries. Toffee and doughy bread to pair with a green hop presence. Solid, but I was anticipating a darker, heartier brew.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at the brewery. Poured almost a straw hue. Nose was faint malt and a touch of caramel. Flavors were malty with a strange spice. Mouth was dry. Not really my thing.
