Aroma: Caramel and bread aromas, nice and malty. Appearance: Cloudy red with a thin tan head. Taste: Medium sweetness straight through. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, dry finish. Overall: Itís a nice beer, but not too impressive. Iíd drink it again, though.

12 ounce bottle, label says this version is brewed at Rust Belt Brewing in Youngstown. Served in a Great Lakes goblet, the beer pours a dark ruby red color with about an inch light tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. The brew smells like toasted malt and some dark fruit. Itís a nice but light aroma. It tastes like toasted malt, nuts, caramel malt, and a bit of dark fruit. Mouthfeel/body is medium, itís slick and coating with low/moderate carbonation. I think itís an OK brew, worth a try if you can get a single bottle but I wouldnít buy a sixer of this. $1.90 a single bottle.

Not much flavorful aromas. Dark amber in color. Smoky sweet flavor. This was a very unimpressive beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Cincinnati Winter Beer Fest (CWBF) 2013. Orange color. Minimal white head. Toasty, lightly smoky flavor. Some metallic. Little nuttiness. Bitter, with a lightly sweet finish and macro-like bite. Medium body. Crisp, more smooth, but moderate strength carbonation. Eh. So I donít like Irish ales... Or 2x Irish Ales. Itís settled.

Dogbrick (7971) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 2, 2012
Sample at Red Brick as part of Ohio Brew Week. The beer pours a clear reddish-amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Malty aroma with some hops in the background. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, hops, and fruit. The finish is roasty with a nutty, malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

From Bottle. Light malty aroma, Thick head which lingers large bubbles in head. Taste is sweet maltyness. Easy to drink. Nice flavor with a weird soapy end.

Nearly clear medium amber with a light head and little isolated dots of lace. Taste begins with malt, but is interrupted by an odd flavor that I can only guess is bitter prunes. Only fair.

Bad aroma. Beer really wasnít that bad tasting. Not a big fan of malty beers so my rating may be biased. For Ohio... Not a bad beer. Lol

Bottle. Poured reddish copper color with a large frothy off-white head that lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. This beer went well with a cigar.

A creamy looking darker but not too dark pour with a creamy thin head. Smell is a little bit of slag. Big bursting flavor of bitter malty alky, does not hide the alky well. Stronger beer impressions. Smooth but aver the top in a few flavor aspects. Palate does have a little co2 hidden in there. Bitter medicine malt linger for a finsh.
