This isn’t a bad stout. Malty chocolate darkness in the nose. Head that fades. Not sweet not very dry... pretty balanced a pretty nice dry stout.

12 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a darker brown. Dense color throughout. Thicker head of beige velvety foam. The aroma has notes of ash, walnut hulls, toffee. The taste lends an acidity up front. Dries out and is fairly ashy and bitter. Way over carbonated which causes the acidic bitterness to be quite harsh. There might be something wrong with this bottle. At least I hope there is.

On tap during Ohio Brew Week 2013, taster from Red Brick. Clear brown color, kind of red / orange around the edges. Thin tan head. Medium body. Lighter, kind of soft carbonation. More dry finish. Kind of chocolatey, roasty, slightly burnt malt character. Very toasty. Stronger bitter taste. Ok stout. A bit thin.

Clear ruby brown with slight head and dotted lace. Taste is dark roasted malt and bitter caramel. No change through the palate anf finish, except for a slight dry chalkiness. Slightly heavy, particularly for the abv, not a candidate for session drinking. Fair, but not recommended.
