Our Brewmaster had added his own twist to this traditionally-brewed Weizen, which pours to a cloudy, golden amber colour. The result is a craft brew with a hint of apricot to give it a refreshing seasonal taste.

Aroma: very particular dry apricot aroma with notes of peach. Appearance: unfiltered light orange colour Taste: also very obvious apricot taste not too much else here, no unpleasant aftertaste Palate: could use a bit more carbonation, a bit thin and watery on the tongue Overall: a nice refreshing summer weizen that is a good alternative to the standard bananad and cloves wheat beer. Just a straight forward beer

Pours hazy orange with a small, fizzy white head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is spicy wheat, apricot, coriander, and spicy hops. Flavor is spicy wheat, malt, apricot, no hops or bitterness and a dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation.

YUCK! Normally, Okanagan Spring’s line of beers are fantastic examples of craft brewing. However, this particular entry is not - I imagine even wheat and fruit beer aficionados will not enjoy this one. Smells like sweet apricots, and is inviting. Pours a pale orange colour, almost looks attractive for a beer of its type - the colour seems to be exactly like the colour of a ripe apricot’s skin. Unfortunately, the taste is awful. Imagine swallowing liquid glycerin soap with apricot flavoring, and you’ve got a general idea of what this tastes like. Ridiculously sweet, almost sickeningly so - combine that with the wheaty graininess and you have one awful beer. Avoid.

Cloudy with little head. Very sweet smell and a taste to match. Can certainly taste the apricot. I personally find it a bit too sweet but it was ok for what it is - a summer fruit beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cloudy orange with off white head that doesn’t last. Aroma of grainy malt and a pleasant amount of apricot. Taste is mildly sweet with a very light amount of bitterness from the hops. A long sweet apricot after taste follows. Overall there are no complaints about this summer beer, It’s inoffensive and highly refreshing on a summer day. It could easily use a stronger impact from the hops but it’s not that bad.

Poured hazy medium amber with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet with candied apricots. Light body with a bready mouthfeel. Flavour is malty and sweet, big apricot note, finish is a touch dry.

There’s no mistaking the apricot in this one. It overwhelms any wheat in the taste but the aroma is great.

A cloudy golden orange pour with a decent white head. Strong apricot nose with some yeasty notes in the aroma. Flavour delivers only a bit of apricot with some significant yeast and bread notes, and a bit of malt. Very little bitterness. Not a bad beer for a hot summer day, as suggested.

Part of their Summer Craft mixed 6-pack at the LCBO. This seasonal pours a hazy, amber colour with an off-white frothy head, good retention and patching lacing. Fresh dried apricot nose. The apricot is more subtle in the taste, with more of the wheat coming out. A little sweet, but not too much to ruin your taste buds after one bottle, or become heavy. The body leans on the light side, so this helps out as well. Makes this one an easy-drinking, fruity wheat beer for summer.
