Ungstrup (11075), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 5, 2008 Bottled at Ølfestival, Århus, 2008. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt as well as light notes of soy sauce. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of wood as weill as light notes of oxidation, leading to a bitter finish. The body is thin. omhper (10438), Stockholm, Sweden Oct 26, 2006 Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Black. Aroma of licorice and lemon. Medium sweet with evident beechwood smokeiness, notes of tobacco and coffee. Creamy roasty malt gives it rounded mouthfeel, while smoke and salt fight for attention in the finish.
