Cask @ the pub next to Lyceum Theatre.
Pours hazy golden with a small, bubbly, white head. Okay duration. Aroma is doughy malts, a little caramel and weak fruity hops. Low carbonation, fine mouthfeel. Flavour is pleasantly sweet, lots of malt and with a soft hoppy touch. Good, rather fruity aftertaste. Tasty.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 SilkTork (4692) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, WALES - OCT 25, 2003
UPDATED: NOV 15, 2010 Oct, 2003 W/Spoons, Gravesend. Light bodied and subtle flavoured bitter, leaning in the direction of a Golden Summer, but not quite there. It’s a pale amber, almost golden colour. There’s a citric sharpness, but quite light. It’s a rusty, almost Irn Bru flavour. It becomes more tasty as the palate adjusts. Not bad. Quite refreshing. Sept, 2008 Eli Jenkins, Swansea. Dry, thin session bitter with brown sugar spots - probably from crystal malt. Pleasant enough but unremarkable. [2.7]
Nov, 2010 JDW Autumn Fest, Rochester. A pleasant best bitter - good flavours, well balanced. Slightly dry, but very drinkable and satisfying. [3.4]

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 hughie (3992) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 6, 2007
UPDATED: DEC 1, 2010 Cask, gravity, at Bedford Beer Festival ’07. Amber. Malty aroma. Faint malt taste, otherwise a bit vapid... no, actually it’s rather good. Anyway that’s what I wrote in my notes. 1.12.10, Cask at Pilgrims Progress (JDW), Bedford, after the end of ’Spoons Beer festival ’10. Gold with a small white head. Malty aroma and very sweet taste, slightly grainy. Some bitterness. Easy drinking and enjoyable. Served a bit too warm. This rating is probably more valid than the last, as I was probably well away that time. Rating: 6,3,6,4,11:3.0
