thewolf (8247) - Kolding, DENMARK - OCT 2, 2008
Cask @ the pub next to Lyceum Theatre.
Pours hazy golden with a small, bubbly, white head. Okay duration. Aroma is doughy malts, a little caramel and weak fruity hops. Low carbonation, fine mouthfeel. Flavour is pleasantly sweet, lots of malt and with a soft hoppy touch. Good, rather fruity aftertaste. Tasty.

Cask at Charlies Bar, Copenhagen. A hazy dark amber beer with a thin light tan head. Both the aroma and flavor are sweet malty with notes of caramel, while the body is light.

UPDATED: NOV 15, 2010 Oct, 2003 W/Spoons, Gravesend. Light bodied and subtle flavoured bitter, leaning in the direction of a Golden Summer, but not quite there. It’s a pale amber, almost golden colour. There’s a citric sharpness, but quite light. It’s a rusty, almost Irn Bru flavour. It becomes more tasty as the palate adjusts. Not bad. Quite refreshing. [3.0] </br> Sept, 2008 Eli Jenkins, Swansea. Dry, thin session bitter with brown sugar spots - probably from crystal malt. Pleasant enough but unremarkable. [2.7]
Nov, 2010 JDW Autumn Fest, Rochester. A pleasant best bitter - good flavours, well balanced. Slightly dry, but very drinkable and satisfying. [3.4]

Cask at The Cleveland Arms, London. Pours clear gold with a foamy, white head. Weak aroma, subtle straw and white sugar. Light sweet flavor, mild biscuits, faint bitterness of straw. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Fairly bland finish, light sweetness and even lighter bitterness. Still some hay, biscuits, crackers. Not offensive.

Cask conditioned @ Humble Plumb, Soton. Golden.Sweetish biscuity malt and some tangy citric hops. A little yeasty sulphur spoils the balance.

UPDATED: DEC 1, 2010 Cask, gravity, at Bedford Beer Festival ’07. Amber. Malty aroma. Faint malt taste, otherwise a bit vapid... no, actually it’s rather good. Anyway that’s what I wrote in my notes. 1.12.10, Cask at Pilgrims Progress (JDW), Bedford, after the end of ’Spoons Beer festival ’10. Gold with a small white head. Malty aroma and very sweet taste, slightly grainy. Some bitterness. Easy drinking and enjoyable. Served a bit too warm. This rating is probably more valid than the last, as I was probably well away that time. Rating: 6,3,6,4,11:3.0
