COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled. Filtered and force-carbonated.
"Okells IPA is an extremely light coloured beer with a surprising full bodied taste, the sweetness is offset by a very strong hopping rate. That gives the finished beer an over all roundness with very spicy lemony notes and a fine dry finish to counteract the initial sweetness."
originally known as Dr Okells’ IPA

Bottle from B&M. Golden with a frothy white head. This is a fairly run of the mill golden ale rather than a true IPA. Bitter with marmalade, citrus and a little bit of spice.

500ml bottle at home poured cool into a shaker. Hazy gold with a thin white head. Bread and honey aroma. Some peppery lemon and digestive biscuit, but it gets trampled on by unbalanced green hop bitterness. To be fair, this recedes the further you get down the glass, but that’s probably due to taste buds becoming accustomed. In other respects a nice beer but ultimately rendered metallic. Could be the wrong hop, too much hop, or too much of the wrong hop! I don’t know.

At a tasting, thanks DSG, almost no head, clear lightish gold colour, light citrusy and tropical fruits aroma with some bready malt, light herbal grapefruit flavour with a malty backbone. Nice and drinkable but not too exciting.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks Erzengel for this bottle! Slightly hazy golden. Aroma is a bit skunky and hoppy with a bit of malt and a caramel hint. Flavor has a bit of maltiness, slightly stale, with mild fruitiness and a bitterish hoppy finish. Medium-bodied.
