"Okells IPA is an extremely light coloured beer with a surprising full bodied taste, the sweetness is offset by a very strong hopping rate. That gives the finished beer an over all roundness with very spicy lemony notes and a fine dry finish to counteract the initial sweetness."

Nice citrus aroma with some hints of alcohol on the nose. Looks pretty good, great head, good colour and nice bubbles coming up. Taste is a little watery however, with some dry hops notes and grains. Good mouthfeel. A good refreshing beer for a warm day.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2011 Dry, bitter, hoppy. A little sweetness, perhaps, but this beer should be dry. Rather splendid ale, what! I like mine cold for the bitterness, but let it approach manor temperature, as I sit and watch the huntsmen ready their steeds. Good luck, friends! What better ale to sip in the study, contemplating the history of one’s estate. Seventy-nine pence at Home Bargains, so affordable to the working man! Bravo, I say!

(bottle) Slightly hazy, golden colour with a big and slowly lacing foamy white head. Fresh lemon-fruity and ginger-spicy hoppy aroma with a mildly sweet pale malty background. Light-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a crispy, slightly fizzy carbonation. Pale malt-character with a present fruity hops profile; dry and bitter, also minimal sweet and fruity as well as slightly spicy hoppy finish. Nice session beer lacking some depth (18.VIII.09).

Bottle @ The Rake London. A clear golden colored beer, with a small foamy head. The aroma is hoppy bitter, some sweet and malty fruits like citrus. The taste of bitter hops, sparkeling, fruity like citrus and a little dry. The aftertaste is dry bitter with some sweet.

Bottle. Pours dark yellow, 2mm white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, some bread and something wierd that reminded me of wet dogs. Light fruits return in the flavours with citrus, floral hops and bready malts. A bit dull and watery.

(Bottle, Bishop’s Arms, Vasagatan, Stockholm) Golden amber colour with a brief, white head. Fruity nose with notes of apricots, citrus, grainy malt and hints of rubber. Fruity taste with apricots, citrus, grainy malt and grassy, citrussy hops in the finish. Fairly light body, dryish finish. Lacking some malt structure to balance the tasty hop profile.

Bottled A bright gold beer with a short lived off white head. From a distance the cardboard aroma of pasturisation is pungent and off putting yet up close there are good hops. Citrus orange notes in a sticky marmalade background. The taste has those hop notes too, but this time the cardboard comes last. A mish mash of experiences.

Bottle from Tesco. Gold with a slight haze and generous white head. Hoppy aroma at once both flowery and slightly citrus. Hoppy grapefruit flavours are nicely balanced sweet maltiness. Light enough palate to drink on a hot summer’s day. Pretty decent bottled IPA but not quite up there with the American trailblazers.

Clear light gold with creamy white head. Not very IPA like. Little vanilla and hops, mellow bitterness, berries, hint of spice and citrus. Quite tasty.
