Cask @ The Willow Walk. The pour’s deep gold with a small white head. The nose is light dried grass, some honey buttered toast, tinned pear fruits. The taste is sugary fruit syrup, more pear. Light lemon zest and grass. Plenty of white bread, biscuity malt sweetness. Light body, fine carbonation. Overall, a pretty tasty beer. I admittedly don’t know much about California Commons, this tastes like a fairly solid golden ale.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol, November 2012. Golden with a tight white head. Sweetish, apricot and tangerine fruit aroma with a hint of floral hop. Flavour had pleasantly biscuity malts, more fruits and a moderately bitter finish. Drinkable.

Fra fat på Beehive, Brixton 4 Nov 12. JDW festivaløl. Mørk gyldenbrun. Lavt skum som fester seg litt til glasset. God aprikosaroma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken er mørke plommer. Svakt syrlig ettersmak.

Pleasant hopped pale nose and plenty of tropical fruits in its flavour too. Thin head on a golden body.

Festival ale, half-pint, craft at JDWs Beehive in Brixton. Off-white, bubbly head that laces well. Close to clear, copper coloured body. Herbal hoppy aroma, notes of resin. Blended flavour of grainy malts and dusty hops, lightly spiced. Bittersweet endnotes. Just alright (04.11.2012).

Cask conditioned handpump Moon On The Square Northampton 08/11/12. A golden beer with a tight white head and lace. A lightly fruity beer with clean flavours. Hoppy hints with a touch of cookie dough. It’s the epitome of smooth as there are no edges. Passable and stylistically accurate I guess.

[Cask at The Falcon (JDW), High Wycombe] Pale (some might say insipid) gold with a moderate white head and a slight fizz. Very thin and watery mouthfeel. It’s pretty bland with just vague hints of doughy bread, lemon, cardboard and vomit. Beers that taste of watered-down sick put me right off.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Straw coloured with a loose cream head; and a citrusy aroma; fresh, grainy body with some citrus, honey sweetness, and a grassy bitterness; leaving a soft grassy finish. Good stuff.

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Gold with white head. Sharp, slightly metallic beer, some boiled vegetable notes then a bready, yeasty note. Dry and lasting on the palate, not bad but not really to my taste.
