COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, Occasional
The use of crystal malts gives this beer a rich, ruby-red colour and initial sweetness which combines with a spicy, citric hop aroma to develop into a very smooth and easy-drinking beer which belies its strength. Hops used: Amarillo

Cask at the Cleveland Arms, London. Pours mostly clear reddish-amber with a lingering, foam head. Caramel malts in the nose. Flavor is sweet and balanced, with more caramel, toasted bread, then followed by mild, earthy bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. The finish is smooth with a pleasing caramel character. Very nice.

Cask at GBBF 2009. Pours a pale chestnut with a thin creamy head. Plenty of fruit in the aroma, with plenty of fruit and spices in the flavour, with a nice dry finish.

(Cask at Crosse Keys JDW, London City, 16 Apr 2009) Chestnut colour with ruby hints. Foamy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of crystal malts and wild berries (raspberries, cowberries). Malty, fruity taste with wild berries and a nice, tangy, citrussy bittermess in a fairly dry finish. Nice one.

Cask conditioned handpump Wig & Pen Northampton. Verging on ruby with a whitish head and bit of lace. A rich malty beer with god fruits. A long finish but it all a bit harsh on the fruitiness.

A Mes rate. Cask handpull from Baker Street ’Sporks.
Dark copper with a thin off white head and plenty of lace. Well balanced bright and perfumed hops with some good malty hints and a really pleasing bitterness in the finish. Straight forward but really enjoyable.
