ALLOVATE (1534) - Butler, WA, AUSTRALIA - JAN 15, 2006
In comparison to this breweries ’Jasne Pelne’ Pilsner this one seemed a little tame. Like the higher ABV merely consumed all the flavour as it was heavily subdued. Poured a very similar sunny gold to the Pelne, with an immense, fairly dense rocky white crown that persisted daubing foam down the glass. Slightly ’eggy’ skunky, toffee and honey nose with a feint hint of grains. A lot of hot alcohol came with the first sip, but mellowed as I got stuck in. Quite lively on the tongue, medium-light in body and overall sweet like the Pelne. Really not much there flavour-wise; rock candi, maybe some maize and palest malt, with a short finish that had a feint bitterness and drying alcohol that did little to balance the sweetness of the palate. Fairly bland, especially as far as simplistic Euro-Strong’s go. To its credit though it did look good in the glass and managed to quench my thirst! (50cL, 7.0%, 07/10/06)

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2006 Strange I haven’t got round to reviewing this one, it was one of the first Polish imports I started drinking years ago. So this time I revisit it with a lot more to compare it to. Dark golden-orange hue in the glass . Produces an ample puffy white cap which lasts as a surface-clinging cap and laces well...this is rare for a strong beer/malt liquor. Aromas of husks, grains, some fruit and floral scents. Full bodied and slick mouth feel. Semi sweet and bready up front then a cidary bittering takes over with a drying finish and warming from the alcohol. Hides the ABV well. Very filling and malty. If you are going to buy a Euro strong beer this one is about the best out there.

Crosling (1861) - Loveland, Colorado, USA - JAN 7, 2006
Vibrant pale malt smells, with mild skunk, salty biscuits, banana chips and mild fruit aromas. Yellow color. Flavor is really mild overall, but with some suprising character and well hidden alcohol.

Not as bad as I had expected.Quite sweet with a less alcohol than I had expected.Left no lacing and a medium sized head..An o.k example of a Euro strong Lager-there are a lot worse.out there.

DuffMan (4242) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 10, 2005
Deep golden, decent head retention. A definite sharp fruit character is present in the aroma, and the alcohol is apparent too. Full bodied, moderately sweet malt with a hop kick. Finish is boxboard dry, and the alcohol lingers up the back of your nose. I thought this beer was excellent-- very full-flavoured and a pleasure to drink.

500ml bottle, Albert, Warsaw. Golden colour with thin white head. Lager style nose with hop/malt. Quite good in mouth due to the sweetness from the alcohol. Goodish dryness on end. Strong lager with quite a nice after taste

Bottle. Dark gold colour with slim white head. Aroma is grainy, bready, yeasty, toying with being stale. Not very nice tasting, like most european strong lagers. Sweet and unpleasant and the stuff of my personal beer nightmares (I don’t like it much).

bluevegie (2853) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - NOV 28, 2005
Clear orangey gold body with a compact white head. Mainly corn aroma. Light caramel in the taste as well as a touch of honey, green apples and pepper, fairly bland and just about all that I was expecting.
