Bottled. Deep golden colour, mediumsized white bubbly head. Strong malty aroma with grassy and honeyish hints. Flavour is really boring, just hops and malt with sting of alcohol poorly mixed.

(500 ml bottle: $1.99 at Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, CA) Pours a quarter-inch of rocky, white head that shows solid retention. It’s light golden in color and crystal clear in appearance, so the scattered carbonation bubbles rising through the beer are readily visible. Strong grain/corn, moderate sweetness and a fair amount of alcoholic in the nose, but it’s actually not unpleasant. The grain and corn carries through into the flavor, and presenting a fairly sweet body, but also a mildly bitter and alcoholic finish that just kills this beer. Light-medium bodied, but not the most pleasant mouthfeel. Tastes too much like beer you drink to get drunk. I’d rather have a beer that tastes good, thank you.

Clear and gold with a thin, patchy head. Toasted malts with hints of sweet corn and brown sugar. Flowery-herbal bitterness. Didn’t really notice any major off-flavors, but it didn’t really have any on-flavors, either.

Skunky, corn aroma. Pale golden, no head. Taste is sour corn with a metallic finish. Pretty darn bad.

Bottled. These Polish Mocnes are pretty crude but beat bog standard lagers hands down. Old gold in colour with an initial nice white head. Loads of sweet malty smells and tastes and noticeable alcohol as you drink it. I’m sure the Poles who drink this stuff regularly are good for a laugh.

For the most part, see my review for <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/okocim-jasne-pel Jasne Pelne. The difference is in the alcohol fusels which can be detected here in the aroma, flavor and finish and detract from the mediocre experience... although Malt Liquor lovers may enjoy it.

Golden amber with a decent but short lived head. Aroma of malt and alcohol. Taste is mostly sweet malt with the alcohol becoming more pronounced as it warms. It won’t win any awards but actually not bad.
