1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 KimmoS (51) - FINLAND - JUL 26, 2005
Looks like cider. Lager. A bit of metal, wood and something sweet in the flavor. Not special.

Smooth, strong lager. You can taste the alcohol. Not a complex beer. Poland has some great beers, but this isn’t one of them.

UPDATED: AUG 12, 2006 (Bottled, 7.0% ABV, BBE 05/2006) Deep golden colored with a smallish, white head. Mild, caramely, honeyish-malty, a bit metallic aroma. Sweetish-caramely, quite malty and acidic flavor with slightly burning but bearable alcohol and hints of honey and some strange alcoholy-plastic-rubbery-glueish substance in the finish. Medium-bodied, slicky, smooth and quite soft-carbonated, warming-alcoholic palate. A decent, not too sweet or alcoholic, quite smooth and balanced strong lager. Should be drank slightly warmer than fridge temp for smoother, toffee-malty flavor.

Bright golden, small head. Effervescent. Grassy aroma, also maybe baking bread? Grainy anyway. Some raw alcohol, although smooth finish. I know the malt liquor appellation on the label is just legalese but this stuff is borderline!

Bottle: Deep golden to pale amber colour, thin foamy white layer; very light malty (caramel) and fruity (honey) nose; sweetish, malty beginning; mainly bready taste; only a light bitterness in the light malty aftertaste, some metallic traces; not so well rounded and in spite of it’s alcoholic strength rather thin.........
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 MoritzF (7137) - Bochum, GERMANY - JUN 17, 2005
(bottle) Deep golden to pale amber colour with a medium frothy white head, slowly lacing. Grainy sweet malty nose with hints of alcohol and honey when it´s geting warmer. Not a well-rounded but quite rounded brew. Good balance between sweetness and bitterness in connection with a nice alcoholic body. Sweet malty taste with an underlying fruitiness of overripe grapefruits and a slightly warming sweetbitter finish.

Can. Golden colour with a big white head. Light malty grainy hoppy aroma and a sweet light hoppy light alcoholic taste. Medium body and a sweet light alcoholic finish.

"Make mine mocne!" is what I often say... along with a lot of other odd things after imbibing a few European strong lagers. As they go, this wasn’t too bad, golden with steady carbonation and a frothy white head. The aroma was a slightly off, grainy scent. The flavor was a sweet, yet toasty, malt with a bitter, metallic finish. I’ll take this over most pale lagers. Make mine mocne!
