No real taste of its own, tastes like Heineken with a shot of vodka, wouldn’t have again. Plenty of fizz and nice looks but no reason to return.

7.1%ABV 500ml can, lets hope I enjoy it more than the bottle I had back in 2008. The can had a best before of 27 Apr 2011, it was reviewed two months later: poured into my Budweiser Budvar 0.2 litre tasting glass on 23 Jun 2011. No complaints from the look, bright, clear and golden. Lovely white head on each pour of the three. Grainy, metalic type smell, but strangley not offensive. The taste is all about the alcohol, with a drying bitterness that I didn’t really take too. There is a hop mini feel in the flavour, but it just didn’t seem to do much taste wise. I could see two pints of this giving you the mother of all hang-overs. It’s the sort of beer drunks drink out of brown paper bags! As unimpressed as I was with the bottle, but for completely different reasons: have my tastebuds changed, or has the beer?

Metalchopz (1751) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - APR 4, 2012
Originally rated March 2005. This strong Polish lager pours a golden-amber colour with a small had, hardly any retention and not much lace. The nose is slightly bitter and some alcohol is felt. The mouthfeel is quite smooth. The aftertaste is grain/corn. Some alcohol is also felt there, but still quite drinkable. Other then the aftertaste and the colour, this brew doesn’t do much for me.

500 ml can. Golden, fluffy white head with some retention. Malty, grainy nose with hints of metal. Taste is pretty simple, some malt with watery notes, develops into an alcohol bur with more metallic notes. Not good.

500ml can pours a pale golden color with a 2 finger white head that settles down to a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel malts and grassy hops. Taste is caramel malty sweetness with a mild grassy hop bitterness and a bit of alcohol burn in the finish. A decent strong lager style.

Light amber with a nice head that drops to a film after 2-3 minutes, light lace that slides back into the glass. The taste is molasses malt with a touch of light spice (can’t identify). Some of the flavor is lost due to a chalky coating deposited on my tongue and the roof of my mouth. Not really bittering at the finish, more like a carbonation edge. Somewhat heavy and filling, but not as fulfilling as I would like.

Can at home. Clear golden with a white head, nice lacings. Aroma light malty (caramel) and hoppy, some alcohol. Flavor light sweet and bitter, again som warming alcohol. Light body with some warming alcohol.
