3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Angeloregon (2054) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 1, 2007
Nice orange tawny hue with a fluffy white head. Grainy bread nose. This beer is standard of a polish ale. Tasted more like a lager though it was an ale. Very scrumptious!

Pours a yellow color. Has more of a hop and malt flavor then other lagers I have had which is good, but its not saying much. Nothing special

33 cL import bottle. A pretty strong German hop nose upon opening and pouring. More a Pils color than a plain ol’ Pale Lager. Thin head with some cling to it. Taste actually has some balls to it: malt is there, maybe some corn, but not a lot. And a nice noble hop bitterness. I can’t explain why I like this more than most raters: This was from a few six packs that had just been put on the store floor until they could make up a shelf tag, the store’s scanners didn’t recognize the UPC yet, so this may just be as fresh as I could get in the States. I’ve had East European beers loaded with headache inducing sugar, and this is not one of those. Just a decent import lager.

Pours a clear lite-golden color with little head. Looks like a typical domestic lager. Little to no discernable scent in the aroma....it smelled of spare pocket change? Flavor is bland and a little watery, although there are some pleasent hoppy flowery/spice notes in the finish. While better than some homegrown large-scale domestics, this pale lager cartianly leaves something to be desired. A good thirst quencher for a hot day, but best avoided if looking for any depth, complexity or satisfaction.

Sweet aroma of apple, honey, and barley. Clear yellow color with an almost non-existant head. Taste is dry, sterile, and watered down. Flavorless alcohol finish. The deceptively rich aroma leads one to believe that this is a great craft beer, however, it tastes more like a Coors Light.

Bottle. I liked it a little better than just "O.K." -- but not much more. Seemed like a typical pale lager to me in color and aroma with the exception of the frothy head, nicer than a typical brew. Mild flavors of grain with a definite tendency towards sweetness; hops are mild to non-existent. Vaguely metallic after taste on the few first sips, then I lost it completely. On par with some of the Mexican pale lagers I enjoy.

16 oz can. Yeasty, bready with a honey aroma very mild. Pours clear blonde. Crisp lager flavor, some honey, very light on flavor, very clean. Not bad for working in the yard during the summer. But not a lot going on either.

Poured from bottle to mouth, multiple times. Not a bad beer. Like a pilsner mixed with Balantine’s XXX malt liquor. More body than I expected. Malty up front, somewhat fruity with some muddled bread dough, and faint lemon grass in the bland finish. Again, not bad.
