Much like the Baltika brew I had the other night, skunky aromas fill my senses as soon as I pop the top on this bottle. Pours a crystal clear golden color with a decent sized white head that dissipates quickly to a cap. After airing out a bit the skunk is still in the room, but maybe my nose is used to the smell a bit because I can find some bready pils and a hint of flowers. The flavor is a bit better than the aroma advertised. Nice sweet bready malt presence with a hint of graininess. Thereís a firm spicy hop bit that provides a great balance to the malty sweetness. Carbonic acid is a bit high and does detract a bit. Medium body with a sweet bubbly mouthfeel and a moderate level of carbonation. Not a bad brew after it airs out a bit.

Draft. From notes. Grainy and clear. Nothing special at all, just another sub par beer. Meh.

RedSox2004 (1139) - Pacific Palisades, California, USA - APR 27, 2013
Crystal clear medium yellow with a thin but bright bright white head and minimal lace. Faint grainy malt aromas. Modestly sweet bready malt flavors. Light body, generous carbonation, watery mouthfeel, and a short finish.

DrSilverworm (5051) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 25, 2013
500ml bottle, shared with taylor. Perfectly clear golden-orange color. Minimal white head, no lace. Light to medium body. Softer, but moderate-strength carbonation, with a bit of a pronounced bite to it. Generally... Not impressive... Just tastes like your typical cheap lager. Bread, with some skunk, mustiness, watery. Light sour. Some bitter, little sweet, light bite in the finish. Nothing attractive about this lager. Polandís local cheap choice, I guess.

Nothing special about this. Just refreshing but not much flavour. NIce golden features and some foam too.

glennmastrange (2145) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - FEB 21, 2013
Bottle. Moderate straw for the malt, light flowers for the hops, with hints of cooked vegetables and cardboard. Head is small, frothy, white with no lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is sparkling clear light amber. Flavor starts slightly sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery with a lively to fizzy carbonation. Refreshing with some interesting aspects.

Pale yellow, very little head. Very sweet, bready smell. Taste was mostly of sweet malts. High carbonation. Not very good and entirely too sweet for my taste. (1/5 in other app) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

imdownthepub (9672) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 28, 2012
Bottled, 500ml from the East European Supermarket, High St. Banbury. Hazy gold with short head. Fairly standard lager, there is a sweet maize like note, corn, grainy with a very slight lemony hop perhaps. Slightly cleaner than most. Ok.

Drat at Fermentation. Pale goden pour with a small fizzy head. Aroma is grainy pale malts and some honey sweetness. Decent body with light crisp grains and a quick finish.

I think the style of beer I dislike the most would have to be the European pale lager. For a beer of this style to NOT get a thumbs down from me is quite an accomplishment. Thatís how I feel about Okocim O.K. Beer - itís not bad but itís not really good either. It is, as its name states, simply okay.

I poured a 500ml can into a lager glass.

Appearance: Straw yellow to gold color; crystal clear; plenty of visible carbonation. Forms a large, white, foamy head which mostly dissipates but does leave some nice lacing on the glass.

Smell: A typical lager aroma for sure, but absolutely nothing off-putting.

Taste: Okocim O.K. Beer stands out in how bad it is not. Instead of having any sour qualities or obvious adjunct flavors, the palate here is clean and neutral. Iíll chalk this up to the fact itís in a can rather than a bottle so itís probably better preserved than most European macro lagers are by the time they reach my beer store.

As far as actual taste description there isnít much to say. Itís clean and mild in every aspect. No generic lager taste, no boiled corn water flavor, no apparent rice sweetness. Itís comparable to Schlitz or PBR, but cleaner tasting. If there were some sweetness in here itíd actually garner a thumbs up from me (see: Trader Joeís Nametag Lager). As it is itís inoffensive, but not worthy of a true recommendation.

Drinkability: I have no idea what summers are like in Poland, but if I were there and it was hot out I could definitely see myself kicking back a few cans of this to beat the heat. The mouthfeel is thin and wet with a watery texture. Thereís enough carbonation to make it crisp, but itís not spastic and out of control. Drank cold itís definitely refreshing and easy to slug down. The body seems a little lighter than the 5.6% ABV would indicate, but I doubt anyone would have any problem getting through a can or two.
