BeerandBlues2 (5594) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAR 22, 2011
Bottle shared by Butters at the 14th Richmond Gathering. Pours clear straw with an average, frothy white head, medium retention and light lacing. Aroma is average malt (grainy, meal, cereal), perfume and spicy hops, lightly fruity with notes of butter. Flavor is meal, cereal, spicy hops, buttered corn, and fruity. Light body, low warmth and creaminess, medium carbonation with a dry finish.

A Polish macro, which is not to say to is bad but rather bland with more hops than might be expected and fizzy, which I like. Quaffable but deceptive at 5.6% ABV. Head is white and dissipates fast leaving medium lacing and a very thin ring. Nose is toasty malt. Palate is medium, slight bitterness with slight burnt sugar and hops bitteerness. For eastern european beers, it is better than the usual.

Butters (2841) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - MAR 19, 2011
Sampled at the Richmond 14th Gathering. Pours a clear pale gold with ring. Clean and corny. Nothing offensive, but there is a light skunkiness. Bad dry aftertaste with noble hops. didn’t care for it.

12oz bottle pours golden/orange with medium head. Aroma is sweet malts, grain, yeast, basic. Taste is similar slightly metallic. Beer is as states OK.

About as middle-of-the-road as it gets. Just a very nondescript lager out of Poland.

Schroppfy (2319) - Łódż, Warsaw, Poland; Michigan, Ohio, USA - FEB 7, 2011
Aroma a little sharp, slightly harsh, but not grainy. A little hoppiness (pepper), skunk. Flavor is moderately-to-heavily sweet (bready, white sugar) and only lightly bitter. Somewhat watery. More than the sum of the parts. The Ratebeer pointspace between 1.5 and 3.0 has been expanded greatly, more finely tuned, by experience here in Poland - for better or worse.

Weak aroma of banana and pineapple. Not a very strong taste either, but again a little banana. Kind of fizzy. Clean after taste. Not a remarkable beer, something that works for drinking large amounts though.

500 ml can. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a clear gold color with about a half inch white head. Head retention and lacing are both average. Aroma is all bready and sweet malt. With that being said, for the style it’s not a bad smelling beer at all. The taste is the same as the aroma, it’s all bready and sweet malt. It’s not too sweet, and there aren’t any offensive aromas or flavors. Mouthfeel/body is light, but it’s not watery. Moderate carbonation. Drinkability is decent enough, it’s smooth and goes down easy. I was pleasantly surprised by this brew. For $1.09 a can, I think it’s a good deal. For the style of beer this is, I thought it was pretty decent.
