The dark colour and intense taste is due to a unique process of malt fire-burning. A process that requires craftsmanship and precision from the brewer. As a result a beer has been created with a slightly sweet taste at first sip and a nice bitter follow through.

Courtesy of the fine staff at Belmont Station. A slightly tart, slightly smokey, medium bodied, Porter-like creation. Went down very quickly.

Bottle. Smalll tan head that mostly diminished, spotty lacing, transparent, fast rising carbonation, and a reddish brown hue. The aroma was malt, dark fruits, some toffee, and semi-sweet. The flavor was malt, sweet, dark fruits, and nutty. Tingly mouthfeel and medium bodies. Easy to driink but nothing special about this beer IMO that left me wanting this again and there are better to drink of this style IMO.

Nice deep cola coloured body with a very small tan head that fades really fast. Aroma of nice pit fruits, raisins, malt, toffee, nuts and a tinkering of spice. Medium-bodied; Strong roasty flavoured malt with a good nutty backbone and a sense of real strong sweet caramel flavours. Aftertaste is mellow and smooth, with malt and nuts the strongest. Overall, a nice dunkel - very drinkable and smooth, with some good characteristics! A nice Polish beer to sample and one that is very recommended. I sampled this 500 mL bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 01-May-2008.

Caramel brown with a decent head. Nice nutty, dusted malt aroma and flavor. Easy drinking. Easily identifiable as a dunkel. Right on for the style and a tasty example at that.

brown pour with a dirty white head. Malty aroma with a sweet background, kind of artificial. Similar flavor, some bacon and smoke as well. Overly sweet finish. Just not my thing.

Bottle. Coke-colored pour with a large light brown head, a bit soapy. Darkly malty nose, slightly dusty, with artificial sweetener and just a touch of cardboard. Taste has some nice burnt roasty notes, and an occasional moment of dryness here and there, but on the whole an overwhelming dropkick of sugary artificial sweetener which cloys up the whole mess. Medium body with a little prickling and a little mouth puckering. The malt isn’t too bad, and the roast coffee notes might otherwise have some value, but this sucker is just a sloppy, undrinkable mess. Amphetamined Coke? Overrated, at that.

Bottle brown 500 ml, extract of wort ~13%
Nice brown coloured slowly decreasing head. Medium bodied. Nice very dark amber to rubby hue and dark brown boddy. Carbonation is rather mild. Nice but not strong aroma of malts and carmel. Some faint hints of citruses like lemon. Flavour is sweet, because of dark Munich malt and some extra sugar I think. Generally a kind of dessert dunkel. Hop level is not high. Initially seems a bit wattery in its texture but still well balanced. Wery little bitterness of burned malted barley and roastiness but only some hints. Palate is weak and wattery reminding me of previously tasted German DunkelWeizens but having this characteristic and unchangeable mild and gentle aromatic hoppy nose, typical of all Okocim beer styles. Finish is also slightly more bitter and beer sometimes may appear as smooth in texture.

500 ml. bottle. Mahogany with a fading almond colored head. Aroma and flavor marked by a deep molasses maltiness. Sweet basically. I wish I could pick up something more (roastiness, hops, etc.) to cut into it, but I’m tasting nothing but malty syrupiness. Blech.
