Sample from a bottle at Binny’s "Fall Festival of BEERS." Dark, "fire brewed" smooth with hints of smoke. Decent flavor and finish. Probably great with game.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 anders37 (9280) - Malmö, SWEDEN - OCT 13, 2006

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 jpm30 (1587) - East Central, Georgia, USA - OCT 12, 2006
From a slender 500 ml. capped brown bottle with no freshness date.
Poured a dark porter-like brown with a foamy off-white head that settled into a thin lacing, minimal amount of sticking.
Aromas of roasted malts, caramelized sugar, floral hops and a light smokiness, a sweet smoky nose overall.
Medium, steady carbonation and a malty crisp, dry, smooth medium bodied mouthfeel.
Pleasant lightly smoky taste, roasted lager malts mingled with caramelized sugar, a subtle toasted graininess, a light fruitiness, the hops are pretty subdued, and a dry light smoky, grainy and sweet caramel finish. The alcohol is well masked, only a brief flash towards the end.
I admit, I like the beers from Okocim, I found this one to very drinkable, well worth trying. Purchased in a four pack at Steve’s in Madison, WI.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Dorwart (2110) - Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA - OCT 10, 2006
Good sized light brown head of nice fine bubbles. Kind of soapy on top. Light licorice and vegetal aroma with a bit of roasted malts, a bit of vanilla and some floral notes. Color is a very dark brown. Shallow flavor with a minimal roasted grains, some more vegetal characteristics and a bit of sweet syrupy something. Kind of slick and oily in the mouth. Nothing offensive but nothing that really stands out. Soft and creamy finish. Not a bad brew but nothing special either.
1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 omhper (15600) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 10, 2006
Bottled. Dark brown, small head. Vegetable aroma. Syrupy and mellow with extreme artificial saccharine sweetness. Unclean stale Carlsberg-y vegetable flavour dominate after the initial surge of chemical sweetness. Close to undrinkable.
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 Tranquillity (1314) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 17, 2006
This used to be my favourite Polish beer until I accindelly checked what it contains. The number of e-substances, not even to mention the aspartam, is simply something that I can taste through too well. Too bad for an otherwise ok beer. My grades would have been 8/4/7/3/12 without the sh*t in this.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 sloth (2060) - Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA - SEP 17, 2006
Small, bubbly tan head, fair retention, lace is stringy, thin and patchy. An almost black brew with a ruby red glow. Body is light/medium, sorta nuetral. Nose of faint roast and some sweet malts. Medium sweet malt flavors, light roast, smoke and caramel. Medium sweet finish.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 JoeMcPhee (6835) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 15, 2006
500 ml bottle. Dark brown beer with a thin tan head. Aroma is lovely, earthy, peaty smokiness, toasted malt, light caramel, some light herbal hop aroma. Flavour is farily refreshing and medium bodies with a moderately sweet caramelly flavour, toasted bread and a soft, but insistant sweet smokiness. A minerally character in the mouth gives the beer a crispness that accents its otherwise soft maltiness. Another lovely beer on this somewhat surprising evening of European brews.
