The dark colour and intense taste is due to a unique process of malt fire-burning. A process that requires craftsmanship and precision from the brewer. As a result a beer has been created with a slightly sweet taste at first sip and a nice bitter follow through.

500 mL bottle. Dark ruby-brown with a small, diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is sweet malt, with a touch of coffee and roast. Perhaps a little vegetal. Flavour is very syrupy sweet and not much else. Just too sweet.

Bottle. Pours a deep dark reddish brown with a 2 finger beige head that leaves very spotty lacing. The nose is smoky malts, caramel, dark fruits and metal. The taste is sweet caramel malt, prunes, light chocolate and sugar. Medium creamy body. Easy drinker, but nothing special.

Bottle. A clear, brown body under a creamy beige head. Caramel, some vegetables and oxidation on the nose. Dry chocolate and a touch of alcohol too. Maybe some brown gravy? (Brun saus) Smooth, medium body with caramel, some coffee and chocolate, a little bitterness and a faint note of vegetables. Sweet, roasted and decently bitter finish. Quite interesting and nice. carruthm (1396) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 3, 2009
aroma rich in chocolate with a slight malted barley and lukewarm coffee note. It poured with a 1/2 finger medium dense cream head and a nearly black hue. the taste was luxurious in rich cocoa with a slight citrusy tang at the end. mouthfeel was creamy. Reminiscent of a cross between Youngs double chocolate and troubador obscura.
