COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Another, after Okocim Wheat, koneserski variant in the family Okocim, which promises exceptional taste and aesthetic experiences. By combining several types of malt, including Munich, caramel and roasted, and two month aging period okocimski Porter reached a unique dark color and a deep, noble taste, seasoned with hints of cedar.

Bottle, 50 cl: Deep reddish brown with a very small foamy tan head. Aroma of plums, caramel, burnt notes, rye bread. The taste is very sweet with notes of caramel, rhum and brown sugar and a (too) mild bitterness. Oily, viscous syrupy texture and a flat carbonation.

Light tan head, about a finger in my pint glass. Dark, but not as dark as some. Robust coffee, and a bit boozy to boot. It’s like a caramel rum kind of thing. Interesting at least. Very crisp drinkability. Caramel is there, but the booze is easier than the smell made me think. Bitter but very balanced. Sticky. It’s a really good porter.

Cheers Colin for cracking this bottle. Pours a dark brown colour with a thin, light tan head. Aroma of chocolate upfront followed by cocoa beans, caramel and alcohol. Tasty and deceptively drinkable given the abv. Similar flavours with moderate carbonation and a little CO2 prickle. Rum and raisin chocolate to finish and a light alcohol hum. Nice.

Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee and raisins. A little roasted malt also. Pours jet black with a coffee coloured head. Looks silky. Taste is a lot sweeter than the smell suggests. Lovely soft mouthfeel. Vanilla, dark chocolate, raisins, roasted malt and coffee. A slight bitterness on the finish. Awesome stuff! Better than I expected.

Over the last year or so I have learned that the Polish seem to be the masters of the Baltic Porter. So, if that is the style you are thirsting for, Okocim is a perfect example.

Dark brown beer with minimal head. Odor of roasted malts, currants and dates. Very sweet flavor, cloying finish. Oily texture. A 500ml bottle takes some time. Carlsberg’s best import...a matter of some dispute.

Bottle as a gift. Deep dark brown/ruby pour with a medium sized and creamy dark brown head, which laces and leaves a thin film behind. The complex aroma is ruled by raisins, caramel and brown sugar, which is escorted gently by chocolate, liquorice and alcohol, mouthfeel’s syrupy and moderate sticky. It finishes long and warming with alcohol, liquorice and spices. Serious and delicious brew.
