3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jb (1540) - Rochester, New York, USA - DEC 13, 2009
A nice low budget baltic porter from BOTW. Reddish brown with soapy looking head. Nose was a little subdued, but noticed coffee, prunes, and spiciness. Palate is nice, a bit creamy, bubbly, thick malty feel, that is a bit nutty and chocolaty. Not the best of this style I have had but certainly a nice beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 brenn79 (859) - Idaho, USA - NOV 14, 2009
500 ml bottle- Pours black with minimal head, not much in the aroma, maybe some roasted malt. The flavor is mellow and somewhat malty with an under lying alcohol taste. I am a little uimpressed with this beer, the ladys at Get N’ Go Gourmet recommended this to me. They said that when you open it you get this overpowering aroma of coffee and that it was excellent, but I did not get that impression. Oh well, still a good porter.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Enjoyit (2721) - Vadum, DENMARK - NOV 14, 2009
Black of color with an off white head. An aroma of prunes, dark fruits and spice. A flavor of prunes, liqurice and spice.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Davros (919) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - NOV 13, 2009
Pours almost black, just the slightest of ruby highlights, with a large persistent tan head.
Rich roasted malt aroma of dark chocolate, hazelnut praline, Irish cream and morning cappuccinos. Later on some dark fruits start to show, mainly cherry and plums.
Upon tasting, I’ve gotta say that this beer is amazingly creamy. As in Irish cream creamy. Loads of the stuff. Also milk chocolate, with some roasted grains bravely trying to cut through the sweetness, but failing miserably. The alcohol is noticeable, but in no way harsh or overpowering.
I would have liked the body to be chewier, but really, there’s little to complain about in the mouthfeel.
