3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Aggie80 (740) - Michigan, USA - JUN 2, 2008
Dark rich pour with a tan head and good lacing. Rich sweet flavor heavy on the malts and just a touch of hop bitterness in the finish.

12-oz. Pours black with a thick, creamy tan head that falls quickly to a slim rim. Big sweet molasses and chocolate nose. Medium, creamy body with subdued carb. Chocolate all over the mid-palate, along with some pruniness and maybe some other dark pitted tree fruit. Mild, fairly brief sweet finish. I’m pretty sure I’ve rated this beer, but either way, I’ve enjoyed it for at least a couple years. Always a pleasure to drink.
2.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 bweezy (53) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - MAY 29, 2008
Poured beautifully, a dark brown opaque colour, with a beautiful chocolaty head. Aroma was nice, smelling of burnt malt and a hint of chocolate.
Things went down hill with the taste. I was overwhelmed with an alcohol taste, coupled with a burnt after taste. I didn’t much care for that. While this beer was one of the most beautiful pours I’ve ever seen, the taste didn’t match.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 chandler0201 (599) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - MAY 18, 2008
Nice chocolatey aroma and tastes of coffee and chocolate. Aftertaste is kind of bitter and sweet, reminds me a bit of malt liquor which loses some points with me. However, high alcohol content for a relatively cheap price, so can’t complain there.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 surffisher (198) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - MAY 17, 2008
500 ml bottle. Pours opaque dark brown with a creamy tan head that reduces to a splotchy cover. Aroma is dry, chocolately, and a bit musty. Surprisingly sweet flavor with chocolate powder and licorice notes. Medium-full bodied with a smooth somewhat chalky mouthfeel. Nice, especially for the price.

Okocim Porter is a deep brown color with little to no head. The flavor mimics a blend very well and is smooth while being nicely bitter. The finish is a bit dry and nappy.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Beershine (4561) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - MAY 14, 2008
Bottle. Deep dark black-bown. thick tan head, lacing. Aroma of asphalt before rainfall. Black licorice too. Beautiful smooth palate. Oily, slick, creamy. Black licorice. Slight sweetness. Rubbery as if eating coconut but without coconut flavor. Well-made, clean finish, almost astringent. Quite salty. A simple sipper.
