COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Another, after Okocim Wheat, koneserski variant in the family Okocim, which promises exceptional taste and aesthetic experiences. By combining several types of malt, including Munich, caramel and roasted, and two month aging period okocimski Porter reached a unique dark color and a deep, noble taste, seasoned with hints of cedar.

500 ml bottle. Pours a rich black. I really like the look of it. A penetrating aroma of cocoa or chocloate rips at my nostrils. So did the alcohol (8.3%). That was a bit of turn off because it was just so prevalant. So I went from excited to unexcited within a few seconds. The taste was heavy chocolate/cocoa and acrid with alcohol. Bitter aftertaste that I just couldn’t shake. I like my beers and even my Porters milder than this.

Pours an opaque black with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet - mostly chocolate. There are also hints of wood and alcohol in the aroma. The flavor is strong and quite malty and sweet. The strongest flavors, in addition to malts and sweet chocolate, are those of bourbon whiskey and oak. I don’t know if this beer is aged in oak barrels or not, but it tastes that way. It could instead be flavors of licorice and alcohol that contribute to the whiskey-like tastes instead of actual oak. The finish is sweet and full-bodied, and the mouthfeel is thick, almost syrupy, and creamy.

UPDATED: AUG 21, 2007 Originally reviewed back on 10/3/05. Received 4.45 score. Added to my RB list to check "Poland" as a beer country consumed. Robust porter with proper porter characteristics you cannot ignore. Roasty and a bit creamy. Alcohol bites through with ease. Tasty.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a large sized head of foamy with a frothy top fine to large sized light brown colored bubbles that were and left behind a and thick foamy lacing. The mild aroma was brown malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish. The flavor contained notes of mildly vinous dark malt mild licorice and brown malt. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

Sampled from a 16.9 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a small khaki head. The aroma was sweet and malty with hints of chocolate and molasses. The flavor was tangy, almost fruity with a sweetish malt base and hints of chocolate.

[419-20070711] 500mL. Roasted malt grains aroma with hint of floral and brandy soaked black currants, almost like Christmas pudding. Dark black brown body with a long-lasting foamy tan head. Flavour hints at burnt orange fruit and sweet chocolate notes but mainly sickly caramel malt and currants. Full body. Booze is sadly mixed up with an unpleasant and sickly sweet malt.

500ml bottle, $2.49 at Total Wine. Clear dark brown beer with little to no head. Very light aroma of sweet dark malts and dark fruit. Flavor is sweet and malty with lots of dark fruit, chocolate, coffee, and a tingly, roasty finish with a bit of bitterness. An excellent porter. Substantial body and silky mouthfeel. Complex, smooth and sweet. Very tasty and enjoyable. A big bottle for a very reasonable price. Good alcohol bite buried in the excellent flavors. An excellent value for a very tasty beer. Maybe not as good as Anchor, or Fullers, but close. If this were more readily available, I could drink a lot of this.
