draft- imperial porter that really packs a punch. Seriously. The alcohol is really appearent. Bourbon taste, oak chips, almost stout like. Not one I would go to again, but interesting.

Bottle. Wow. What an impressive beer. This definitely challenges any preconceived notions one might have about Polish beer. Dark brown pour - almost black with a foamy white head. Faint, but pleasant barley aroma. Rich malty flavors of milk chocolate, caramel and hazelnuts. Velvety smooth for such a dark beer. This is easily one of the best porters I’ve tried.

Almost black color. Full body. Fruit and tobacco(?) taste. Less roasted malt flavor than many other porters. A bit too sweet for me.

6/13/2007: Ahhh! I really needed something good after trying the <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Beer/fort-collins-cho Collin’s Chocolate Stout... Okocim Porter pours a clear, dark cola brown color with a foamy tan head. The head collapses at a reasonable rate and leaves a thin, frothy crown and some spotty, foamy lacing. The aroma has some aged dark fruits, soft dark malts, and some mild alcohol. This bottle must be a bit old as I am picking up some oxidation qualities, but that passes quickly (actually it works very well in this beer) and the underlying darkly roasted malts, caramel, dark chocolate, dark fruits, and warming alcohol still comes through quite boldy. There is also a hint of tobacco or something just before the finish. The alcohol isn’t dominating, but it definitely makes itself known. However, the alcohol is welcomed since it is well-blended with the other flavors and actually works to enhance them. This beer starts a little sweet and becomes more robust and slightly more roasty, dry, and bitter with each drink. Very good and very nicely done! The body of this beer is medium-full and it is sticky on the lips and slightly viscous, yet very smooth in the mouth. I really enjoyed this beer and I am quite impressed, especially for the price! It is very much like <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/aldaris-porteris Porteris and <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/baltika-6-porter 6 Porter.

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2009 500ml bottle. Pours a very dark colour with brown and red highlights. Very little head. Aroma is chocolate, but also coffee, roasted malts, and alcohol, which is what I expected. Taste is stinging, sweet and mostly of the chocolate aspect, as well as the alcohol, with a touch of molasses. I find it strongly sweet, but still pretty enjoyable.

Pours viscously with a nice head. Smells of raisins and burnt toffee. Smooth malty taste with echoes of figs and mocha in the aftertaste. A nice porter, exemplary of the baltic style

Appearance: Pours an opaque black body with a fading, light brown head.
Smell: Sweet-smelling, lightly roasted chocolate drenched in concentrated notes of leather, and alcoholic rum raisin.
Taste: Flavors of light chocolate and blackstrap molasses unfortunately are obstructed by a fierce, cloying sweetness that is tough to overcome. The oversweetened taste is close to becoming unbearable. Nothing but alcohol and a further spoonful of sugar on the finish which leaves an icky, viscid aftertaste.
Mouthfeel Medium-bodied, with a saturated syrupiness.
Drinkability: For the most part, this beer was all alcohol and sugar. Finishing the 500ml bottle was a hard-won battle. An appallingly syrupy beer with no redeeming qualities. I much preferred the Sinebrychoff Porter and Duck-Rabbit’s Baltic Porter over this mess.
