COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Another, after Okocim Wheat, koneserski variant in the family Okocim, which promises exceptional taste and aesthetic experiences. By combining several types of malt, including Munich, caramel and roasted, and two month aging period okocimski Porter reached a unique dark color and a deep, noble taste, seasoned with hints of cedar.

Tonight I had a real sweet tooth. This fit the bill well. Appears too dark for a porter, too light for a stout, but still had a light tan head (though diminishing quickly). I guess it’s a Baltic Porter! The nose is strongly sweet. Creamy chocolate pervades. A slight roast, alcohol, and some light floral hops provide balance. The body is rather thin for such a hearty style, but the carbonation level is appropriately subdued. The flavors are a notch above what I expected, despite being incredibly sweet. Incredibly sweet brew. There’s a huge milk chocolate aspect. The subtle amount of bitterness comes from alcohol, roast, and rather liberal floral hopping. There’s such a strange balance found here because the sweetness isn’t incredibly round. The finish is sweet with a chocolate bitterness. The finish is dry with a little roast and hops, and a fair amount of alcohol.

Pours a thin tan head which turns to a thin soapy film. Aroma is of sweet malt and caramel. It reminds me of a lighter style beer whose name I cannot recall. Mostly sweet, almost no bitterness. It does not have the dryness of a porter and drinks more like an imperial stout. Perhaps it is more similar to a traditional porter. A carameled brown ale and an imperial stout mixed? I am not sure what to think of this beer. It was decent.

Pours a deep dark brown color, and shows off some ruby when held up to the light. It is topped by a good inch & a half of creamy tan foam. Great head retention and pretty good lacing too. Malty aroma, bold but not exceptionally powerful, of dark roasted malt, some fig, coffee, and alcohol. A taste treat - full flavors of bittersweet chocolate, molasses, sugar-sweetened coffee, and roasty grains. There is enough hop presence to provide a nice balance, yet no hop flavors are observed. Medium-full body, ample carbonation, very smooth mouthfeel. That sweetened coffee flavor lingers in the aftertaste. Although I detected alcohol in the aroma, I can’t taste any. However, halfway through the bottle I note a soothing and warming presence.

UPDATED: AUG 20, 2007 Nice blatic porter, good roasted malt, slight fruit notes. but as it warms, wow the booze really comes through, otherwise a really nice porter.

Pours black with a nice fluffy mousse like brownish head when any light gets thru it has a garnet highlight Aroma of roasted malts, some melanoidin. dark plum, dark caramel, chocolate & some grassy notes. Alcohol is definitely in the nose Tastes of Chocolate, some vanilla, Chalk, some plums and a faintly spicy hop flavor and a noticeable alcohol warmth Not heavy on the palate the carbonation and alcohol lighten this beer Overall: A wonderful Baltic Porter, the Chocolate, Plum, Caramel and melanoidin make it yummy the alcohol is just a tad too much in the forefront. As I sip the carbonation and flavors remind me of a Cola (like Dr pepper). Though not the best baltic porter for a ubiquitous Porter with a $1.59 price I would say a great find

Bottle - 500ml. Opaque black body topped with a thin brown bubbly head. Strong and rich malty/hoppy aroma with roasted coffee, dark chocolate, plummy, and vanilla notes. Taste is very well balanced. It carries various fruity, roasty and vineous hints. Ends with a good warming finish. This is a well done Baltic Porter.

Bottled at the Grey Lodge in Philly. Good beer. Nice sweet malt taste. Only drawback. Alcohol wasn’t hidden very well.

Similar green apple aroma found in the OK beer. Roasted, almost meaty aromas and flavors. Finishes sweet and nutty.
