3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ibrew2or3 (4699) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - AUG 28, 2006
500mL bottle @ 8.3% ABV. Dark brown to black in color with nice lasting dark tan head. Sweet smell for a Porter style. Aroma is more molasses than black patent and burnt malts. There seems to be a hint of alcohol too. Very nice taste. Molasses and vanilla dominate the flavor over the burnt and chocolate malts. For my taste this is a good Porter. I enjoyed it.

This is rich full bodied porter. Nice tan frothy head. With a medium chocolate aroma.

0.5 L bottle for $1.49. Pours to an ultra dark ruby body that looks black when not held to the light. The beer has a small bubble foamy light tan head. The aroma is licorice and anise, dry roasty molasses and coffee. Aroma is a bit too light and semi-hard to detect. The flavor has that dry-fruity-coffee quality with some nougat. The palate is lightly tart and dry. Pretty decent Polish brew.

Pours black with a hint of red/amber on the edges of the glass in the light. Big chocolate aromas and flavor with subtle hints of licorice. Finishes on the sweet side with a kick of alcohol.

500 ml bottle poured into a tulip. Pours out clear brown with a light brown head and decent lacing. Not a boring porter. Caramel, coffee and chocolate flavors jump out like a stout at first sip. Drinks easy like a porter. Finishes with a few notes of hops. Thank you Sebastian for this after dinner treat.

pours a dark, ruby-tinted brown with a fairly thin light tan head that retains well and leaves good enough lace. powdery chocolate nose with notes of notes of port and perhaps dates/cherries, with a dark rum overlay. flavor starts sweetly malty, with pretty chocolate/toffee notes. balance comes from a bit of deeper roast flavors in the finish, along with a little shot of alcohol. porter is both sweet and boozy, definately on the dessert line. pretty good beer, but honestly, kind of one-dimensional.

Sampled at State College BrewExpo. Nice sweet, malty nose, dripping with caramel and coffee, chocolate and molasses. Dark brown-black with thin tan head. Medium to heavy body, somewhat oily, with mild to medium carbonation. Thick tasting, with dark roasty malts, caramel, vanilla, chocolate, and coffee. Medium tangy bitterness in the finish. Sweet, almost cloying, with Tootsie Roll after. Nice porter.
