patrick767 (1449), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Jun 9, 2008 tap at the brewpub - Pours gold and mostly clear with a lasting one finger white head. It has an aroma of cereal malt and some fruity notes. The flavor is of bready malt, mild hops, and light fruit notes. It’s highly carbonated and has a mild hops finish that’s not as crisp as I’d like.
awaisanen (1161), Irvine, California, USA Oct 31, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Crystal clear, transparent gold color with a two finger head of well sustaining white foam. A slightly metallic, lager yeast character sharpens up a clean bouquet of bready malt and restrained floral hops. Light bodied, crisply carbonated, soft mouthfeel with a dry, somewhat metallic finish. Clean pale malt flavors of bread and cracker up front on the palate, followed by a gentle, but refreshing finish of euro hops. Nice, clean, and satisfying with no distinguishable off-flavors or obvious deficiencies. Satisfying, ejoyable example of a German pilsner. ultraspank (856), Dublin, Ohio, USA Oct 25, 2007 Had this on tap while out bar hopping with my bud Robert in Seoul. Nose of citrus, and grain. Pours a sparkling clear straw. The mostly diminishing creamy white head leaves light lace. The brew is both toasty and tart with a moderate acidity. The finish is brief and clean. The light body is lively and creamy. The finish feels clean. tomciccateri (467), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Sep 7, 2007 At the brewpub, pours a dense gold color with a lasting white lace. Light-to-medium body, soft mouthfeel, mild hops and light malty flavor. Overall - clean and OKAY. 5000 (2400), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA Jun 26, 2006 Bottle: Hazy soft golden in color, moderate white head, frothy, spotty lacing. Corny aroma, some cereal, otherwise grassy. Grainy flavor, malty, a bit bigger than your average pilsener. Moderate body and mouthfeel. Finish isn’t all that clean. Seems like a heavier version of a Bitburger Pils. Not bad, but not all that great either. Thanks to mattbob for sharing this WBC/CBC bottle!
