3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours dark, copper brown with a faint head. Faint roasted malt aroma. Taste has some hops, but more roasted malt with a hint of sweet and a slight bitter aftertaste. Slightly effervescent with a bit more body than a typical lager. This is more what I expect of an Amber than a lot of the beers labeled that way.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours a murky, dark brown, with a small, beige head. Aroma of chocolate malt, cinnamon, and some burnt toast. Dry, chalky maltiness, slightly sweet, and light bitterness. Medium body, astringent, and grainy. Overall, this is a strange beer, but despite the oddness, its still fairly tasty.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft. Poured brown, almost ruby brown -- very dark for an amber. Big flavor and aroma for an amber. One of the two or three best I’ve had. Aroma and flavor were lots of caramel, touch of toffee and smoke, some diacetyl (but worked here), fairly hoppy.
