2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
clear gold, no head, lacy tiny bubbles. nose of earthy malt, sweet and airy. flavor is spicy, earthy malt, sweet malt at the end. medium bodied, sweet finish. a decent example of marzen, but typically too sweet for my palate.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear golden pour with moderate white head. Nice caramel/toffe malt nose. The flavor was uncomplicated...caramel and toffee malt sweetness, light hop bit in the background. Decent interpretation of the style.

Draft at brewpub on 10/02/08. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate aroma of toasted malt. Medium body. Well balanced toasted flavor with a medium sweet finish of short to moderate duration. This is beer met my expectations.
