3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
1/20/2008, draught at the brewpub. Clear orange amber with a one finger fading off-white head, fair retention. Aroma of some caramel and toast, light citrus and hops. Flavor of sweaty citrus hops and some caramel and biscuity malts. Semi-dry finish. Light to moderate carbonation with a light to medium body. Tastes a fair amount like their regular pale.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: JAN 27, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. Served colder than any of the bitters I’ve had in the UK, but this is the U.S. and we are in Iowa. Beer MUST be served cold. Poured a hazy orange color. Head was white and left some lace on the side of the glass. Aroma was of grassy hops, hay, and a hint of pear. Dry as a bone with mild to moderate hop bitterness (4-5 out of 10) that lingered a while. Tasted a bit bland with subdued biscuity malt and stale grassy hops. So so.
