Bottle, via Eebria. Clear, very dark, reddy brown. Halo and film of tan head. Sweet, grainy malt. Hint of liquorice. Hint of chocolate. Not overly appealing. Taste is dry, and very light tart. Thin mouthfeel. Finishes a bit tart.

Black with a creamy brown bubbly head. Boozy chocolate malt taste, roasty with a bit of rye. A lovely beer with plenty of body.

Smells like a good Port (the drink kind) Looks like a rich dark chocolate colour creamy white head, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, flavours of fruity chocolate, port. its quite rich. slightly watery but doesnt detract from the beer at all, very, very good.

Bottle from the brewery. Poured a dark mahogany with a thin off white head. The aroma is weak roasted malt. The flavour is medium bitter with a hoppy slightly watery spicy malt palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A great session beer but not a great beer.

Room temp bottle 6.4% BB May 2014. Bought from the brewery in August. Pours black with no head. Smell…vinegar? In a porter? Body is medium. Taste is slight cheese and smoke. Surely it’s not meant to taste this way, but it doesn’t taste infected (I don’t rate beers that are obviously infected). Ergh.

Bottle from brewery. Colour is opaque black, off white head. Nose is good. Dark chocolate, ale fruity, touch black coffee, but mainly dark choc. Touch of lactic, bit of ink, but again mainly dark choc! Taste is inky, dark chocolate, dark fruit, prune, touch of bitter hop/roasted malt. Body is fairly light for a porter.
