TheCheeseMan (504), Saint Cloud, Florida, USA Apr 5, 2008 Poured a dark, burnished brown color, very small head gracefully blankets the surface. The aroma is sweet milk, cafe latte’, treacle, dried figs, very nice. The roasted notes come through much stronger once tasted, with a nice, subtle chocolate note, wrapped up with a lactic sweetness. I could drink this one every day. Very nice.
DragonStout (1141), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 10, 2008 Thanx to Cheeseman for sharing this. This poured black and creamy with a small tan head. The nose on this was milk chocolatey.Chocolatey, roasted flavor that finished off slightly bitter. henrikb (1008), Aarhus, Denmark Jun 11, 2008 Bottle - Dark brown body with a lasting creamy light brown head; I have very little knowledge on Milk Stouts, but this is not what I expected, it has milk chocolate, is quite roasted and actually a little sour milky as well; Quite watery body, soft but thin, not really sweet, actually more sour; Medium long finish with milky chocolate aromas, again quite a bit of roast darker then nose. Right or wrong I cant tell, very drinkable yes it is, but not overly interesting. Thanks Doppelganger! CapedBrewsader (179), Brasschaat, Belgium May 15, 2008 50cl. bottle at home. I forgot to write it down but I am pretty sure this bottle was gifted to me by cgarvieuk. Thanks! Pours very dark brown (but not black) with ruby highlights. Nice tan head looks creamy but "spritzes" away somewhat quickly. Good smoky notes with a deep roasted barley background. Small touch of bitter chocolate behind the roasted barley. Faint sense of wet bark becomes more prominent as time goes by. Some sweetness is sensed on the tongue in the first second. This fades off and is replaced by dark cold-steeped coffee. Bitter chocolate comes and goes. Silky feel in the beginning turns watery halfway through. Towards the end a smooth roasted barley (pure) comes in and rides through the finish with a touch of chalk and cola. Nice stout. Oakes (6793), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 7, 2008 Dark brown. Light toasty nose with a hint of nuttiness and crackers. Sort of a thin body with a light crackery taste. Finishes quick, and far too light jayg (997), Florida, USA Apr 11, 2008 Courtesy DaCheeseMan. Dark brown pour, thin white head. Thick palate. Powdered cocoa, light roasty aroma. Thick milky taste, light roast present. Very basic and nice, but nothing steps out and calls your attention.
