3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500 mL bottle mail ordered from the Old Chimney Brewery, poured into a pint glass. Good bubbly head on a fizzy golden beer. Dry, lightly hopped, with a nice mouthfeel. Reasonable mild hop aroma. Tastes ok, but lacks a little in character.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from the brewery. Poured a hazy medium amber with a broken frothy white head. The aroma is hop and malt. The flavour is medium bitter with a zesty yeast hop malt citrus palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Very refreshing. I liked this a lot.

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from the brewery. Gold with a lively white head. Good clean tasting golden ale with smooth carbonation and a little sediment proving bottle conditioning. Well balanced with modest but fresh tasting English hops and no off flavours.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: FEB 3, 2012 Bottle from Old Chimneys. Colour is a nice clear reddish chestnut. Nose is sweet, bubble gum, fruity ale notes, caramel, pear drop boiled sweets. Taste is quite unusual in a good way. It’s sweetish, pear drop flavour, quite nice, but then there’s a bit of a bitter tang, and the texture is a bit watery and fizzy. Almost very nice, but when the finish kicks in, it’s possibly lacking body and backbone. Still good though.
