An excellent Imperial Stout more mellow and moreish than its reserved brother. I like this more, in fact. Lovely sweet stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

>> Last beer of Thanksgiving. Thank you Colin for this treat! Deep clear sepia pour, medium rocky beige foam. Okay retention and spotty lace. Nose is grape soda, plum, roast, alcohol, sweet rum, flash of smoke/savoriness. Taste is bitter cocoa, grape soda, plum. Medium bodied, medium bitterness. Carbonation is lively, finish is dry. Fairly straightforward, but too much grape and plum for me.

330mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma reveals notes of oak, wood, cocoa, dark fruits and some roast. Flavour is complex, with notes of dark fruit, cocoa, and some roasted malt. Finishes lightly sweet with notes of raisins and cocoa. Excellent stuff.

33cl bottle served in a snifter. Pours a pitch black colour with a wonderful brown head which billows nicely. Aroma is heavy burnt malt and dark fruits. Taste is wonderful notes of dates, blackberries, burnt malt and coffee notes. Sweet initially with a very slightly bitterness which finishes with a slight tartness. Best English beer I have tried by a very long way. Must find the reserve version of this.

Currently drinking. Wonderful aroma of liquorice, dark fruit, port, toffee and molasses. Pours as a dark black vessel which harbours a tall and thick tan head which slowly dissipated to an outer ring. Tastes of rich burnt malts, molasses, dark chocolate, light coffee, earthy and herbal hops, slight smokey whiskey finish which lasts with a black malt bitterness. Soft tingly carbonation, thick and full body and silky texture. Overall, absolutely sensational, by far the best English imperial stout I have had, and it's brewed a mere 25miles away from my house! Lovely job! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, cheers Craig. Rich tobacco, treacle, and slightly smoky aroma, with a hint of raisin and plum underneath. Inky black pour. Creamy chocolate and bitter cocoa flavour.

Bottle, via Eebria. Clear, dark red. Halo of light brown head. Sweet blackberry. Rum truffle chocolate. Taste is milk chocolate sweet. Some cocoa dryness. Light, vine fruit seed, tannic bitterness. Thick, bonfire toffee sweetness on the lips. Smooth, creamy palate. Finishes with more of the rum truffle thing. Very tasty. Silky smooth.
