Pub (4119), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Feb 16, 2008 Cask conditioned at Merton Winter Beer Festival ’08. Black beer with tan head. I went for this straight away at the festival to give it my freshest taste buds, its big, dark roasted but really pretty sweet, you need the sugars to get the strength, but I found that this left a little too much behind. Undoubtedly there was big coffee roasted flavours, a mineral flavour not unlike coal, sweet fruits, I went for Lychees, and it is a very good beer, just not a great one for me.
