Dark nut brown color, almost opaque, small off-white head. Caramel malty aroma, slightly nutty. Decent body for this ABV. Light palate. Caramel, nuttyness, light toasted note and paperness. Old bottle but not yet infected.

Bottle at Chris’ Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia tasting. Thanks Thomas. Brown ruby, lasting beige head. Odd date aroma. Inoffensive quite tasty mild. I rather liked it.

22nd May 2010. ChrisOs ’Blue Ridge Mountains Of Virginia’ tasting! Clear dark brown beer. Light palate - a touch watery. Tangy dark malt and a whisper of smokiness. Finishes light and crisp. Comes over as a very light porter. Not bad.

Bottle under the name Meadow Brown. Very dark brown. Leathery ash in the aroma. Taste is sour with liquorice sweetness and slight dryness. Plenty of flavour in this distinctly porterish mild.

Bottle at Chris O’s. Dark brown with a beige head. Dark fruits, licorice and herb aromas. Flavours of roasted malts, chocolate and raisins. Background hops and malts.

Birthday bottle of Keith’s, as Meadow Brown. Deep ruby with a white rim. Attractive coal, apple and milky coffee aroma. Gentle smoky chocolate, good ashy cocoa linger. Nice.
