Pours copper with a beige head. Aroma is biscuit malt, dark fruit and toffee. Flavour is malt, dark fruit, toffee, flowery hop and sweet notes which is well balanced by some nice hop bitterness.

Bottle @ Cloisters. Pours dark and opaque with no head. The nose has toffee and maybe figs. The taste has figs and more toffee. The palate is sickly sweet - big structure but struggled to finish the bottle.

Bottle bought at the brewery. Colour is a cloudy dark brown with reddish/maroon colouring, thin white head.Nose is alcoholic, port fortified wine, buttery, chocolatey, cocoa powder, some ruby red ale fruit, bit of orange peel. Taste is nice. Caramel and chocolate, strong ale fruity, stewed Winter fruit, bit of cherry and that port wine flavour. Very little bitterness at all.

Bottle. Dark brown whith a twist of red. No head.great nose. Lots of over ripe fruit sweetness. Some bitterness but a clean finish. Plenty of alcohol warmth. Good gear.

Bottle at Cloisters. Brown, maroon colour with little-to-no head. The nose presents toffee, caramel and a decent whack of banana. Smooth palate, though not without a refreshing fizz. Flavours of red-fruit, honey, raisins, almond and marzipan. Really nice stuff.

Bottle at Cloisters. Very dark murky red/brown, no head. Rich berries, fruitcake, honey nose. As it warms, slight port characteristics begin to show also. Sweet viscous palate, chocolate, spices, red fruit, soft and sweet spiced hop finish. Delicious.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours a dark ruby - brown colour with a thin light tan head. Aroma of raisins, alcohol, treacle and berries. Similiar juicy fruit flavour of berries, treacle, cherries and coffee. Alcohol fairly present with a hot finish. This is delicious!

Bottle at Torben Mathews tasting. Creamy off-white excellent fully lasting head. DArk amber colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy nice aroma. Moderate bitter intense vinius flavor. Long modrate bitter wonderfull finish. Creamy palate.
