Bottled. A deep red beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of caramel and nuts. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel as well as lighter notes of oxidation and nuts, leading to a dry and slightly oxidized finish. Thanks fonefan for sharing.

Lot Number 1075: Dark brown. Sweet figgy malt aroma with plenty of alcohol. Taste is thick, plummy, leathery and sweet, like an expectorant. Slight dry finish. You could go on for quite a while noting the flavour hints that emerge as it warms in the glass.

UPDATED: FEB 25, 2012 Cloudy copper with a lasting ivory-coloured off-white head. Aroma of toffee, biscuit, dried fruit - a lovely Christmas pudding. Sweet and rich malty flavour with toffee and biscuit, some dried fruit, and warming, vineous alcohol

DruncanVeasey (7191) - NUNEATON, Top 18, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - APR 21, 2009
275ml bottle purchased at the brewery shop. Heavy opaque cherry pour, beige foam collapsing to a broken rim in minutes. Nose doppelbock buttery red fruit and marzipan, lots of alcohol and almond. Indescript buttery cherry booze, alcohol-packed but not unappealing. No aged, vinous or oaky tones. Wholemeal and liquorice emerging in the nose, sugar like Kasteel. More doppelbock or barley wine than old ale; extruded rabbit food cereal crumbs, caramelised demerara sweetness, Battenburg cake. Some old leaves in a plastic bucket. If this was in a can and I was sober Id probably slate it. Alcohol bullying any soft red fruit into submission. Not the best of my Old Chimneys box. Im going to bed.

Thanks to Phil l for bringing this bottle to the Bricklayers Arms Yorkshire Fest 09. Lovely red fruits, gorgeous, not much carbonation, but lovely strawberry jam. It is very drinkable and quite glorious. Bit sour. Lovely red soft fruits.

A Mes rate: bottle thanks to Phil.
Cloudy red amber with a thin off white head. Good fruity, earthy malt nose with a good hit of hop resins and some faint ballsy alcohol. Fruity as hell in the mouth. The malt is superb and is backed up with lashings of sweet alcohol and superb fruit pudding. Thick and chewy but not at all cloying. Bloody good stuff all round.

27.5 cL bottle. courtesy of fonefan. Pours hazy and dark brown with a minimal head. Slight wooden and berry fruity aroma with a light yeast notes. Smooth and light caramel malty flavoured with a light bitterness emerging. Lingering breadish malt flavour with a vague fruity accent. Lasting fruity and yeasty impression into a mild malt based finish, rather subdued bitterness.

275 ml bottle courtesy of a trade with cgarvieuk. Lot number 984, best before 01.02.2009. Pours cola colored with barely a film for a head and disappears almost immediately. Pleasant aroma of earthy malt, cherries and some very noticeable alcohol vapors. The flavor is fairly similar with again earthy malt followed by some moderate alcohol. Some cherry and plum flavors are also present, but to a much lesser extent. Zero bitterness to speak of at the finish. The mouthfeel is very similar to a light syrup with virtually no carbonation.
