Jul 15, 2005 Cask (gravity dispense) at Derby Beer Festival. A rather odd beer. I wasn’t really sure what they were aiming at. I thought it hovered between a strong ale, an old ale and a strong bitter. Deep red/brown colour. The aroma was vaguely clammy and not very well defined. Some plummy fruit in the flavour but the mouthfeel was woody and a trifle ashy. Not entirely successful.

Jul 11, 2005 Cask conditioned - gravity - Derby BF. A ruby coloured ale with a malty berry fruit aroma. The taste is quite thich and malty with berry fruits. Doesn’t quite work and is only average.
