Red Top is a traditional English Ale but with a more relaxed taste. It is brewed using our unique combination of Maris Otter, Crystal and Brown Malt, with Challenger, East Kent Golding and Cascade hops. The result in a rich tan coloured beer, that is balanced on the palate, with a hint of citrus aroma. It shows all the characteristics of best English bitter

Bottle. Appearance is very clear amber, a small fizzy beige head which doesn’t last long. Aroma- toffee, malt, hoppy hints, some chocolate, brown bread. Taste- malts, hint of yeast, caramel, toast, some raisin towards the finish. Not bad.

Alright. Prefer their Blue Top beer though. Lingering malty finish, a tad sticky. 6.5/10.

Cask at the Sloany Pony, brown bitter with an appealing hoppy nose, palate is malty with a touch of red fruit, but perhaps a little too vegetal in the finish.

(Cask at Old Fountain, Old Street, London, 10 Apr 2014) Reddish amber colour with brief, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of caramel, red fruit and a touch of toast. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, red fruit, some toast and a gentle bitterness in the finish. Rather light body, with a touch of sweetness. Well balanced and tasty, but hardly adventurous. Quite nice.

Cask at Draft House, Northcote Rd, Battersea on 29 March 2013. Poured a lightly hazy amber, with a light haze and rocky off-white head. Malty aroma, with some berries and hay. Initial flavours of caramel, toasted malt and light straw. Finish was toffee, ripe fruit and some dry grain.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours a copper colour with a small slightly off white head. Aroma of biscuit, caramel, spice and a hint of chocolate. Light to medium body, fairly high in carbonation.

50 cl bottle.
Pours clear dark copper color with a large head. Aroma is nutty and a bit malty, some subtle hoppy notes appear as well as some dry fruity notes, distant berries also. Flavor is a bit watery and thin, some malts, fruits and faint hops, hay and caramel follow. Medium carbonation, dry nutty palate. Clean but a bit boring and not really my cup of tea.
