3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy brown, yellowish head; hoppy, slightly woody aroma; this has a pleasant hedgerow fruit character coupled with some earthy hops; kind of autumnal; decent character for a lower strength beer.

500ml bottle - First I have had from this brewery, deep red body, thin white froth. A heavy malty nose, a sweetness of burnt sugar and caramel, which carries through to the taste. A bit of an ordinary mouthfeel, but I could imagine doing a session on this one. Not bad at all.

Cask in the Prince Bonaparte W2. Deep reddish brown colour, bright and clear. Very malty bitter, toast. Ever so slightly like a Black Sheep but nowhere near as dry. Also just the faintest hint of a modern amber ale style hop flavour, but it is only a hint. But overall a highly drinkable low abv malty bitter.
